Vermont alcohol server card

Officially the DLL seller/server training. Your manager probably called it DLL training.

Checked
August 1, 2026

Vermont requires seller and server training before you start working, by statute, with re-training every 24 months. The penalty is suspension, a fine of up to $100, or both. Vermont runs its own seminars, and for the licence itself only the state's own training counts.

Required by statute (7 V.S.A. section 213). The penalty is suspension, a fine of up to $100, or both.

The courses Vermont approved

This is the state’s own list, not ours. We do not rank it and we do not have a favourite: the ordering rule is published in how we check.

We have not transcribed this state's approved list yet.

We publish the state’s own list, in full, with the price each provider charges. Until we have read it off the state page ourselves, we would rather show you nothing than show you a list we copied.

The state publishes the list here: 7 V.S.A. section 213 and Vermont DLL education

Common questions

Can I take a private course instead?

For your own training, approved third parties and in-house training using the Department's materials both count. For the licence itself, only the state's own seminars do, which is unusual and worth checking before you pay anyone.

When do I have to have it?

Before you start working, not within some window after. Vermont writes it into the statute, and re-training comes around every 24 months.
